Model 3 Highland vs 2017–2023 Model 3: Accessory Compatibility Guide

By Teslora Team ·

Upgrading from a 2017–2023 Model 3 to a 2024+ Model 3 "Highland", or shopping for a used one? Your old accessories won't all carry over. Tesla reshaped the dash, center console, door panels and front fascia for the Highland. Parts that sit flat or snap into a trim line usually need a new cut. Parts that wrap a steering wheel or stick on a camera often don't.

This guide sorts Teslora's Model 3 catalog into four groups: carries over as-is, same product with a different cut, Highland-only and earlier cars only. Every fitment note comes from the product's own "Fits" option or fitment line, checked on November 2, 2026.

Not sure which car you have? In the US, a 2024 or later model year almost always means a Highland. On Teslora product pages it appears as "3(24-Now)" or "Model 3 Highland". Earlier cars appear as "3(21-23)" or "Model 3 2017-2020".

1. Accessories that carry over between generations

These are listed for every Model 3 generation, so one product covers your old car and your new one. Early 2017–2020 cars are marked "check year" on some of them.

Product Price Listed fitment
Silicone Steering Wheel Cover, Matte Finish $34.99 "Y/YL/3 - All Years" (2017–2020: check year)
Microsuede Steering Wheel Cover $29.99 Model 3 2018–2020 (check year), 2021–2023, Highland, Standard
Soft Rearview Mirror Trim, Matte Finish $16.99 All Model 3 years listed (2018–2020: check year)
Cabin Camera Privacy Cover in Matte White or Black $9.99 Model 3 2017–2020, 2021–2023, Highland, Standard
Soft Center Console Cup Mat, Matte Finish $14.99 "3/Y/S/X (All Years)"
Emergency Escape Hammer with Seat Belt Cutter $19.99 All Tesla models

2. Same product, different cut: choose the right option

This is the group that causes most fitment returns. The product page is the same, but the Highland and the 2021–2023 car get different parts. If you kept your old mats or console insert, they were cut for the old car. Order the Highland option.

Center Console Silicone Wrap Kit $45.99 Model 3 2024+ (black, pink or white) Model 3 2021–2023 (black)

*The mud flap option names "2021-2024 Model 3" for the earlier cut. If your car is a 2024 model year, confirm whether it's a Highland before choosing. Email teslora.contact@gmail.com with your build date if you're unsure.

One product, one option for both: the Soft Touchscreen Edge Frame, Matte Finish ($12.99) has a single "15.4 Inch – 3(21-Now)" option. It covers the 2021–2023 Model 3 and the Highland. Choose that option, not the 16-inch one, which is for the newer Model Y.

3. Highland-only accessories

These fit the Highland's redesigned dash, console and front end. They're not sold for the 2017–2023 car.

Browse everything listed for the refreshed car in the Model 3 Highland accessories collection.

4. Earlier Model 3 only (does not fit Highland)

If you've moved to a Highland, these won't fit it. They're still the right choice for the 2017–2023 car.

Quick checklist before you order

  1. Confirm your model year and whether the car is a Highland (2024+ in the US).
  2. On the product page, choose the option that names your car: 3(24-Now) or Highland for the refresh, 3(21-23) for the earlier car.
  3. If the page doesn't list your year, don't assume a close match fits. Ask first.
  4. Model 3 Standard owners: look for "Standard" by name. Some Highland parts list it, but not all do.

FAQ

Do my 2023 Model 3 floor mats fit a 2024 Highland?

Don't count on it. Teslora sells the Highland mats as a separate 3(24-Now) cut. The Heavy-Duty Floor Mats with Optional Carpet Layer and the Cargo Liner Trunk Mats, 3-Piece Set each have separate Highland and 2021–2023 options.

Will my steering wheel cover carry over?

The Silicone Steering Wheel Cover, Matte Finish and the Microsuede Steering Wheel Cover are both listed for every Model 3 year Teslora covers (2017–2020: check year), so they're the safest items to carry over.

What if something doesn't fit?

You can request a return within 30 days of delivery, including when an item doesn't fit your vehicle. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. See the refund policy.
